Working at the Climate Fund: Claudia and Laura talk about their autumn in the world of impact investing

In the autumn of 2022, two interns started at the Climate Funds’ Investments unit and one joined the Communications and Sustainability unit. The internship programme has gotten off to a great start, providing the interns with the opportunity to really get into the meat of the Climate Fund’s operations in diverse projects and duties. This is how trainee analysts Claudia and Laura summed up their autumn with the Climate Fund.

My job as a trainee analyst at the Climate Fund has been a rewarding and eye-opening experience. I got to work as an integral part of the Investments team, wading into fascinating projects. I also got the chance to take part in organisational development related to the assessment of investment targets as I requested. Working at the Climate Fund has given me new faith in the possibility of a meaningful career with social change and impact. I am grateful to the Climate Fund for making this unique experience possible, and I hope that future interns will have just as successful internships here.”

My internship at the Climate Fund was a great success, and I hope to continue working with impact investment going forward. Being part of an organisation that bases all decisions on environmental impact was a fantastic experience. As a trainee analyst, I got to evaluate the emissions-reduction potential and business operations of companies together with my project team. That was also best about my internship: being able to work with real experts and promote solutions for mitigating climate change!

Both Claudia and Laura are heading off to complete their Master’s degrees at Aalto University after their internships. The Climate Fund’s internship programme continues in the spring of 2023, when two new trainees join the Investments unit. We will announce possible new internship openings on our website and on social media.
